Major Responsibilities:
-To identify and source for local suppliers who deliver high quality products or services in the most cost effective manner.
-Enlarge potential sources and qualify them with the necessary resources from other functions
-Familiar with bidding, e-auction and other sourcing tools
-Negotiate reasonable but better commercial terms
-Ensure the reliability of supply to prevent potential shortage and stock-outs
-Follow up with supplier on complaints and ensure that corrective actions leading to improvements are made.
-Review contracts regularly with contract administrator to ensure that company's interests are well protected
-Draw up procurement saving plan in mid-year for the following year
-Leverage as many procurements activities as possible at site and country level
Qualification:
-Bachelor of Engineering in mechanical, electronics, instruments, textile, trade or equivalent
-6 years working experience in sourcing/purchasing department or division as a buyer for indirect materials and contract services
-1~2 years working in the engineering department is a plus
-Familiar with contract drafting and contract management
-Have a certain knowledge of import related procedures
-Have a knowledge of SAP or other ERPs
-Familiar with reverse or e-auction to capture reasonable price of supply
-Have a supplier bank
-Basic English language capability. |
